Cultural Atlas for Young People series

This series includes seven different titles: Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Ancient America, Africa, The Middle Ages, and First Civilizations. Many full-color maps, drawings, and photographs (more than half of each book’s content) give these books great eye appeal. The text is very well written and just the right amount of information for upper elementary students. These are much meatier than most other “picture” books and can stand alone for study of the listed topics. I have not reviewed First Civilizations, but it might present material in ways that conflict with your beliefs.
