CalcuLadder®

The Providence Project

CalcuLadder can be purchase either as consumable workbooks or in the MasterPak format, a CD that runs on your computer. CalcuLadder consists of pages of timed drill that helps students develop speed and accuracy with math facts. Students repeat a given drill page (12 copies of each provided within each workbook) until they can complete it accurately within a set time.

Consumable books come in six levels: 1 covers basic addition and subtraction; 2 covers advanced addition and subtraction plus beginning multiplication; 3 covers intermediate and advanced multiplication and beginning division; 4 covers intermediate and advanced division, beginning fractions, and decimals; 5 covers intermediate and advanced fractions; and 6 covers percents, measurement systems, and geometric concepts, while reviewing fractions.

Each book comes with an achievement record, answer keys, and teacher’s guide. While you have permission to copy pages as needed, the colored pages sometimes do not reproduce clearly.

If you wish to copy pages as needed--or you don’t mind printing pages on your computer and love a bargain--you should purchase a MasterPak. MasterPak CDs run on either Windows or Mac systems. All pages are PDF files. MasterPak 1 contains CalcuLadders 1, 2, and 3 plus Ready Writer®, a penmanship course. MasterPak 2 contains CalcuLadders 4, 5, and 6 plus AlphaBetter®, a dictionary skills tool.
