Beginnings K5

Beginnings K5

BJUP has put together a foundational kindergarten program that covers phonics, language arts (handwriting, comprehension, composition), science, social studies, music, motor development, and art. All you need to add for a complete program are Bible and math.

Regarding phonics instruction, this program introduces all 44 sounds and practices them in phonograms, with children learning to read simple primer material. BJU Press's method has children work with vowel-consonant patterns, then adds beginning consonants, although this method is more evident at the first grade level.

The Beginnings K5 Kit includes a Phonics Practice Book, Reading Books, Reading Books teacher's edition, Phonics & Review Cards set, Beginnings worktext, Beginnings teacher's editions A and B, Beginnings Visuals Home School Flip Chart, Phonics Charts for K5 packet, and Phonics Songs CD. Components can be purchased separately, but the kit price is less than the cost of individual components. The Teacher's Manuals are the heart of the program, and it is most practical to use the entire program as laid out within those volumes.
