Boy Scout Merit Badge booklets

Boy Scout Merit Badge booklets

Boy Scout Merit Badge booklets were designed to help Scouts learn more about specialized topics, often with an eye to giving them a taste of possible future career or study interests. Homeschoolers can use them as guides for their own courses, supplements to other courses, unit studies,or to create studies for specialized topics.

Each booklet is about 70 pages and offers an outline of merit badge requirements that can serve as at least a partial course outline. The bulk of each booklet is information, project instructions, resources, and career information related to the topic. Examples of some of the general science titles are Animal Science, Astronomy, Aviation, Bird Study, Energy, Electronics, Geology, Mammal Study, Oceanography, Soil and Water Conservation, Space Exploration, and Weather. Among biological science titles are Forestry, Gardening, Plant Science Animal Science, Bird Study, Environmental Science (a great study), Fish and Wildlife Management, Insect Study, Mammal Study, Nature, Reptile and Amphibian Study, and Veterinary Medicine. You can often find these books in your local library, but they are very inexpensive to purchase.
