Reading Strategies for Literature AND Reading Strategies for Nonfiction

Reading Strategies for Literature AND Reading Strategies for Nonfiction

Curriculum Associates publishes two series of books for grades 1-8 that help students understand and interpret what they read. Student books feature lessons with either a fiction or nonfiction excerpt accompanied by instruction and exercises for developing better reading skills. Students work on basic comprehension, main idea/details, predicting, etc. Visual organizers are frequently used. These are helpful for basic skill development. Lessons should be presented by parents using the appropriate helps from the teacher guides. Answer keys are in the teacher guides. Select the appropriate book by your child's reading level, and choose either or both workbooks for working with literature or nonfiction.
