Those looking for Catholic homeschooling resources will appreciate the extensive recommendations of two veteran homeschoolers, Kimberly Hahn and Mary Hasson. Hahn and Hasson cover both the philosophy and the practical ends of Catholic homeschooling in this 400 page book.
Curriculum recomendations, planning and organization charts, and adresses are at the end of the book, but the bulk of the book deals with foundational issues such as the pros and cons of home education, how to operate a home school, deailing with toddlers, and teaching teens.
Part Four might be the most valuable part of the book for some families. It includes four chapters titled: " A Vision for Catholic Family Life," "A Mother's Guide to the Sacraments," "A Mother's Guide to Character Formation," and "A Mother's Guide to the Faith of Our Fathers through Scripture and Tradition." All of these are obviously topics not covered in your typical homeschool guide.
This is a great place to begin for Catholic families considering home education, but it's also very useful for those who have already begun..
